Jay T. Mergenthaler is an Associate at the Law Offices of Joseph G. Howard, P.C. Jay started his career by assisting the legal affairs department of the National Association of Realtors. In 2015, Jay began drafting legal opinions on a variety of federal law topics for the Northern District Court of Illinois. Before being hired by the Law Offices of Joseph G. Howard, P.C., Jay worked as a law clerk, performing legal research, filing motions, and answering Discovery.

Jay received his Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton, and acquired his Juris Doctor from Loyola University’s School of Law. While receiving his Juris Doctor, Jay was appointed lead editor for Loyola University’s Law Review.

Jay specializes in commercial litigation, family law, and real estate transactions. He is licensed to appear before the Courts of Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
